It's been a massive undertaking and a very rewarding journey trying to bring Oscar Eide back to life. Coming from construction, fashion was completely new territory for me, but it's become something I absolutely love.
Something I took from my days as a builder is my own obsession with making a quality finished product. I've applied this ethos to everything we do at Oscar Eide. We are on a constant hunt for quality - we scour the globe for the best materials and hardware and bring it all home to keep production in New Zealand. Not the easiest path, but the right one.
Piecing together the brand's history was surprisingly difficult. Over a number of years I have been uncovering it one connection at a time. With no information online, I had to resort to finding information and people the old-fashioned way - knocking on doors, looking in archives, and reading old newspapers. The breakthrough came through PR - the stories themselves became the key. These amazing features helped me find lost connections and bring Oscar Eide back to the world:
