Rescued from obscurity, Oscar Eide is bringing back classic NZ heritage one jacket at a time. Hand-cut & sewn right here in New Zealand, in small batches.

We've had a crazy amount of requests recently, and to keep up with demand and reduce wasteful making we have designed this pre-order system so you can secure your jacket from our latest run today.

Pre-order an Original — Reserve Your Size and Colour

Lead time: 3–16 weeks (depends on availability). Pre-order an existing Oscar Eide style and we'll add your jacket to the next production run (we aim to sew up a new batch every 3 months).

• Choose your canvas colour (we have some fabrics ready in NZ, others we'll order in for the next batch)
• We confirm size & details by email before cutting
• Your name goes on the cutting sheet for the next run
• Pay 50% now, 50% on delivery

Custom — Build Yours (50% Deposit)

Lead time: 3–16 weeks (depends on availability). Design a jacket to your exact specifications.

• Canvas: Pick washed or the new waxed Japanese canvas. We can send you a list of what's available or try add a specific colour request to our next fabric order from Japan (this may take added time - please email us for stock)
• Leather: Pick your leather colour or colours - the collars are cut out of leather pelts and we have a variety of colours available for you to pick
• Lining: We have our standard Japanese brushed cotton check, but we can offer other materials if requested
• Label: Each label is made out of recycled upholstery leather in our workshop. These come in a variety of colours and can be made to match or contrast your jacket

Email us for details and we can get to designing! Your jacket is cut only after we confirm your details, size and deposit.

How it works

1. Decide on your jacket - Either pre-order or a custom made
2. Pick your size - Feel free to reach out for help
3. Send an email with your request so we can confirm the availability of materials and timeframe
4. Pay your 50% deposit to secure your spot
5. We make it and sew it - Individually numbered
6. Once the jacket is made we take the final 50% payment and post it out to you

Sizing help

Our fit is slightly oversized. Most people size down one unless you prefer an oversized look. If you're unsure, email info@oscareide.nz and we'll nail your size before we cut, or come in for a try on.

Shipping & terms

• Domestic and international orders shipped via NZ Post once final invoice settled
• Deposits secure materials and production time; balances are due before dispatch
• Because each jacket is made to order, spec changes after cutting aren't usually possible
• We aim to complete batches every 3 months, but timing may vary based on fabric availability
